When Chrysler introduced the minivan 35 years ago, few understood the revolution in the industry that would take place over the next few decades. As innovations grew, Chrysler stayed on the cutting-edge, putting families and safety first with their Pacifica and Voyager models. Whether your Chrysler takes you from Frankfort across the states or simply safely around New Lenox, there’s a minivan for you. Our South Oak Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler specialists compare the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica vs. Voyager to take a look at what makes these unique.
There are a few substantial differences between the finely-tuned minivans that Chrysler offers Mokena drivers, the most significant being the range of options between the trim levels. While the 2020 Chrysler Voyager has two trim levels and a lower MSRP starting at $26,985, the Pacifica starts at $33,495 and ranges across seven trim levels up to $45,745. The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica also has two hybrid trim options we’ll discuss below.
While both minivans come standard with a powerful 3.6L V6 engine that gets an EPA-estimated combined 23 mpg, the major difference is the latest new Chrysler minivan innovation: the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. This hybrid boasts an incredible manufacturer-estimated 82 mpg with its combined electric motor and gasoline engine powered by a lithium-ion battery that can travel 32 miles on a single charge.
With the help of regenerative braking, the energy normally lost when you brake charges the battery, increasing efficiency and longevity. A Mopar 240-volt battery charger is also available that will charge the battery in less than two hours. The Chrysler Voyager isn’t available with this new hybrid technology.
Drivers who prefer minivans love the comfort of a large cabin and the wide range of versatile seating and cargo options they provide. The Pacifica and the Voyager offer seating for 8 and 7 passengers respectively, with 243 possible seating configurations, and both of these minivans offer the Chrysler signature Stow ‘N Go Storage feature. This creates extra cargo space whether you’re folding down the rows or not.
Important to note is that the Pacifica offers Stow ‘N Go Storage for both second and third rows, while the Voyager offers it in the third row, with floor storage bins in the second row. Both offer a max storage capacity of an incredible 140.5 inches for moving your kids into their first apartment or taking the family on a long camping trip.
When you want to make room for the people and cargo that matter in your life, the Chrysler Voyager and Pacifica are great ways to start.
