Service Technician Hires

We’re Hiring! Join us as an Automotive Service Technician

South Oak Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler is seeking skilled, motivated automotive service technicians to join our state-of-the-art service department. As a vehicle service technician, you will be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and installations on a wide variety of vehicles. We are hiring auto technicians with strong backgrounds in automotive, electronic, and diagnostic vehicle systems, in addition to technical and/or professional experience (ASE certification must be completed or obtained).

Auto Technician

Our automotive service technicians are experienced with handling the following tasks, as well as others:

• Basic to extensive vehicle repairs
• Routine maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid changes, battery replacements, part replacements, etc.
• Testing of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
• Knowledge and background working with automotive tools.
• Documentation of labor, estimated labor.
• Ability to meet high-quality manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Keeping workstations clean, safe, and organized for continued use.

Qualification requirements for vehicle service technicians include at least one to two years of automotive service experience, a high school diploma or GED, technical training, ASE certification (preferred), and a valid driver’s license. Additionally, applicants must always be customer-friendly and objective-focused.

Benefits

Benefits will apply to all full time Union technicians regardless of classification. If employee transfers from a 701 store then the benefits will start immediately, otherwise there is a 60 day probationary term

• Pension is 100% funded by the dealer

• No charge for Union training classes

Pay:

• Lube Techs: start at $15.00/hr
• Journeyman: start at $34.00/hr and receive incentives up to $42.00 per booked hour

Vacation:

• 1 week after one year of service
• 2 weeks after two years of service
• 3 weeks after eight years of service
• 4 weeks after fifteen years of service
• Employees will be given an additional 4 days to be taken off when desired (These days reset after each contract year)
